** UPDATES FROM CLIENTS**
Over the years I've had questions about the success of the application of the technique. I think those that took the time to apply it could answer it best.
"July 2,
Coach Rodriguez,
So it has been 4 months since I implemented the FTP stance at the high school I am coaching for, and it has already shown signs that the stance and technique is paying off, and will only continue to make us better. I have always believed in the stance and technique, since it was one I had seen first hand work on me in college (I played receiver). But there is no literature or knowledge on the subject, so to your credit coach, I broke down your film from your website and have used it as my source for specifics on the stance.
This past week My kids participated in a 30 team 7 on 7. We are d6 (small) the tournament hosted such teams as the 10 time state champs powerhouse st. Mary's orchard park winners of 3 straight d1 championships in a row,the d1 runners up, the d3 champs, the d4 champs, and a very good school from Ohio.
With the FTP stance coach, we were able to straight shut down, lock up (whatever you want to call it) every receiver we faced. My secondary all received high praise "turning into receivers" and tracking down every pass thrown in their direction. Sure enough our small d6 program won the whole thing. Champions. We beat the d1 power house st. Mary's orchard park 61-14 in the championship. We intercepted 7 passes!!"

Coach,
Another update since the transition to the FTP stance. In my first year implementing the system Michigan collegiate has 33 interceptions in 11 games and counting, as we are 11-0 and competing this week for a regional championship.

"Coming from a former collegiate linebacker and coach, I was skeptical because we were never taught this technique in college. However, the sport of football is always changing and coaches are always finding new and improved ways of doing things. Coach Mark Rodriguez's FTP technique and drill system works. This technique vastly improved our corner play and provided much more depth on our defense. I truly believe that this system helps a lesser athlete at corner compete against more athletic receivers. I have already implemented it and seen it work first-hand."

"I went to a team football camp hosted by St. Marys college in Moraga,Ca. I represented my team well and earned the "shutdown" corner title from all the opposing coaches. Im proud of that coach. I worked the techniques that you provided and applied them...and let me tell you, breaking on the ball has never been easier! I really impressed some of the scouts.
Im trying to make this dream of mine a reality...

"-the 4d technique eliminates disadvantages that the traditional backpedal has.
-the progressive training system made FTP an easy transition. it feels more natural than a true back pedal. The progressive steps gave me in depth information on how to execute specific movements.
-similar in ways of progression but different in the execution of the technique.
-FTP allows me to take full advantage of my attributes. (speed, instincts, vision, quicks, hands). Also helps me move more efficent, & less stress on my legs. I simply make more plays, & get beat less.
-very knowledgeable and organized training method. Easy to understand & makes much more sense!"

" Coach,
We have had a 9 day break between games this week and I have been able to run DB and corner practice every day. It has been very interesting what has shaken out in that time.
We have found that some of the kids we had playing the corner position have now been replaced with kids we never would have thought to try at corner. The new corners are reacting to the pass play instead of the receiver. I suspect it is because the other kids that had been playing the position longer could not break some of their habits. We may be able to re-program them over time, but it will take some work.
We have been able to get tighter coverage, break up more pass plays and react to the run a lot quicker. What I will be working on now is the footwork and reaction drils that I can take from your videos. I am very exited about this system for next year when I can start the new 7th graders coming in with this, and continuing with the 8th graders.
Thanks for the input."

"Our season is over now. The technique ideas have been great. We had the least amount of touchdown passes thrown against in our whole league. We were second in takeaways. Our DB's were a lot more involved in making plays this season which helped out a lot. Unfortunately the injury bug hit us hard and we weren't able to make it to playoffs. Next year though. I'm planning on getting our DB's in tune with this technique for spring football and work with them this summer on it"

"Coach Mark,
I corresponded with you a few months ago and purchased your videos. I implemented your system with our corners and we ended up 12-2 and won the state championship in TAPPS Div. I.
I am very interested in attending a clinic if you have one in Texas, Oklahoma or Arkansas. I am meeting with our defensive coordinator to watch the vidoes over the next few weeks and discuss possibly incorporating the system for our strong safties and rovers. We run a 3-3 stack most of the time and like to play man defensive especially now that we are looking into this system. I am in hopes that we can teach it across the board this spring during spring ball.
Thanks,"
